Profiles tab in "System Information" or "System Profiler"

Does anyone know what the profiles tab in "System Information"(also known as "System Profiler") is? Is it the same thing as "profiles" in "System Preferences", showing MDM profiles, etc.?

mbp9,2 has problems and ACPI kext file is broken -actually

it is missing macbookpro9_2.plist from

/System/Library/Extensions/IOPlatformPluginFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin.kext/Contents/Resources

so that one will do as well

SwitchResX. Cannot remove fully?

Hi Guys.

I was experimenting with custom Resolutions, and installed SwitchResX. I have since uninstalled it, yet get this weird title bar in my Display Preferences still?

Is there something the app forgot to Uninstall?

OSX and Calendar - Show All/Old Events?

Using iMac and OSX, how do you show all (or old) events in the native Calendar app? iOS has a toggle that allows you to see "all events." Not so with Calendar on OSX. If I log into iCloud, all the old events are there -- but they simply are not syncing up to the OSX version of Calendar.

So, how to make OSX Calendar sync or show either "all" or "old" events in Mojave 10.14?

Finally, Apple, this shouldn't be this hard. Give us a simple toggle that allows OSX users to "see all events," just...

Macbook Mid 2012 Upgrade issue

I recently upgraded my MCB Mid 2012 to 500 GB SDD in primary drive. I also used my existing 750 GB HDD in optical drive bay using a unibody caddy.

The primary drive (500 GB SDD) is working fine. My old 750 GB HDD had two partitions. Now the secondary HDD is reflecting as two container disks. I would like the two to be merged back into a single drive, Is there any way to combine the two partitions into one?

Also Is it possible to use the secondary drive as Time Machine Backup location?

I updated to Mojave and I really want to do the iMessage on my Mac thing. Also I to do the other stuff like taking a photo and having it appear on my MacBook. I managed to get my iMessages working but it sends from my iCloud account not my phone number. Also the messages from my iPhone aren’t on my MacBook as well

Gmail not working in Mail

I have two gmail accounts setup in Mail on Mojave. There is always an error in the top right of my inbox saying these accounts are offline. If I click on "Take All Accounts Online" it will temporarily connect and pull up new email, but will soon disconnect. My passwords are correct and I have already deleted and setup the accounts.

Has anyone else had this problem with Gmail?

Hi, everyone.

I have the 2 TB iCloud Drive account and I'd like to use it to back up some large RAW files that I have stored on a 1 TB external SSD but I can't find a way to do this without first having them all on my MacBook Pro. Unlike Google Drive and Amazon Drive, I don't see a way of uploading directly from the SSD and bypassing the MacBook Pro. I know iCloud Drive is smart in that anything in it that's on a Mac will be removed from the device (and kept in the cloud) when...

Can you upload to iCloud Drive but not store on your Mac?

Downgrading from Safari 12

HELP!

I foolishly upgraded to Safari 12.0, now my extensions are broken! (RES and JS Blocker).

I WANT MY EXTENSIONS.

How do I download old versions of Safari? I don’t want Safari 12. Apple used to host old versions of software all over their website, but in this brave new world of apple this seems to be gone!

Restoring in Time Machine won’t work for reasons that I COMPLETELY DON’T UNDERSTAND!

Excel Files not saving in Dropbox

I noticed the other day when I was working on an excel file and saved it, the timestamp did not update with the new save. The file appeared not to be saved. I only noticed when I needed to upload the file to website, and I have to chose the file to upload. See uploaded pic.

The excel document is named "1A Test Excel file". Last save time is 4:01PM. This is showing the file in the dropbox folder, in the open...

Play Button [New to Mac]

Am I the only one using Apple Music rather than Spotify? The sound quality on Apple is a lot better than the other. My problem is the behavior of the play button on Mac.

When I want to play music and press the play button, instead of iTunes, it plays the previous video I watched. On youtube, it plays or pauses the video instead of the music.

I want it to be specific on iTunes. How can I do that?
All I see on google is how to change it on Spotify.

Mail keeps pushing into split screen when I'm in full screen view

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone else is having this issue.

I have a MBP and I use Safari in full screen. Since the latest update, about once an hour, Mail suddenly pops up and pushes my full screen into split screen, and I need to minimize it back out of the full screen view. It's usually after it gets "login failed" for a second it seems like. I've tried rebooting, quitting, etc, but it keeps glitching. Any ideas why or anyone else dealing with this? Thanks!

Recovering deleted emails with time machine?

Hello. I am helping my friend who accidentally deleted all of their emails from their inbox. They did so using their mac mail client that was connected to their gmail account over IMAP.

They do have time machine, but can that restore emails that were using IMAP? Do they even get backed up? As in I don't think they are stored on the mac with IMAP, I think they are being stored on the gmail servers.

Thank you for any advice.

Has anyone managed to instal Mojave's News+ app on high sierra?

That's the only feature I want from Mojava, and I do not want to update my macs from High Sierra.
At the very least can someone using Mojave upload the app so I can try?

i have installed fantastical 2
not i have uninstalled it and i search for flexibits & fantastical and delete the files and folder , i have used appcleaner

but in the security and privacy option i still have fantastical 2 under contacts , calendars ...

how can i get rid of it? and have on my secuity and privacy only installaed programs

Regressing from Mojave to Snow Leopard

I have a 2015 Mac mini that I upgraded to Mojave. It runs but very slowly. I'd like to go back to Snow Leopard, which will also get me back fax modem support. There's nothing on the mini so I just need to wipe the drive. I have the Install DVDs. But I apparently need to make a boot device (thumb drive, etc.) to wipe it back to the old file structure. Any advice would be appreciated. TIA.

SMB on Synology NAS super slow AFP works fine

OS : Sierra
System : Macbook Pro 17" Early 2011
Connection : Gigabit ethernet

I have seen so may threads on this but no definitive answer or solution.

When I connect to my synology NAS I get a download speed of 14MB/s using SMB (server is set to allow SMB3 with a minimum of SMB2 large MTU). However, when I use afp I get the full 60-90MB/s .

Considering Apple say SMB is supposed to be the default now this is pretty strange. Does anyone know of a fix? Did Apple fix this in High Sierra?
