Need help with error log of Time Machine failed backup

My parent’s iMac (2017, Mojave) Time Machine backup has been repeatedly failing. After several successful backups it will then say “error occurred while creating a backup folder.” I have to force eject it and physically unplug and replug it in to get it to work again for a while. I saw a Terminal command to get the error log (reprinted below). I don’t know enough about it to make heads or tails out of it. copying iTunes songs to spotify?

I just joined Spotify and I want Spotify to show the songs I have isn iTunes that are available for streaming, but I don't see a way to have Spotify copy what is in my iTunes.

is their any 3rd party app? or how can I do this?

So in the recent days/weeks, I've noticed that my MacBook Pro (15 inch, Late 2013 with nVidia GT 750M) was getting super hot and the battery was draining fast, despite only browsing the internet with Safari.

I noticed that the discreet GPU is always being used. If I reboot, it switches to the integrated GPU, but soon it switches back to the discreet one and stays that way.

Is macOS mail app stealing focus?

I spend most of the day in terminal full-screen. But mac mail app for some unknown reason pops, screen is split and my attention taken.

This is super annoying. To the point that I stopped using mac mail alltogether.

Anyone else struggling with this? Is there a solution?

Photos perpetually updating

Yet another Apple hiccup. Photos on Mac stuck uploading, according to the message at the bottom of the Photos screen. This has been going on for days. Rebooted, signed in and out of accounts. Nothing works. On my iOS devices, my photos seem up to date, but my latest photos have yet to show up on Photos for Mac. MacBook Air OS 10.14.5 What is it with Apple? I think I would rather go back to Windows, and deal with viruses rather than the incompetence of Apple.

MODS, IF I DID GET THE LOCATION FOR THE THREAD WRONG, PLEASE PUT IT IN THE RIGHT PLACE.
Hey, everyone.
I am making this thread to see who wants to go back to OS X Mavericks in 2017.
My reason for this is how it looks. While I was for the new design back for iOS 7, I just never grew on to the design with Yosemite/macOS Sierra. Thank god I have a MacBook which I can downgrade to Mavericks.

Does anyone have the same feeling? Is anyone still on Mavericks? I want to know.

Hello,

When i want to open a file from a program, like word, sketchup, photoshop etc. the finder now arranged the files by the size (see attachment). How can i arrange the files by name, date etc? Or disable this arrange by option?

Is there a way to edit fstab to disable / stop prompting for the password in order to mount encrypted volumes at logon?

The traditional method of using the UUID for unencrypted volumes in fstab doesn't stop the password prompt.

IE: I want to mount these volumes on demand - no stored password and no prompting at login.

How to move Applications folder on a non-booting volume?

hello guys!

I was wondering how I can move the Applications folder of my boot volume to another drive? The 'other' drive is an ExpressCard SSD as I want to take advantage of its speed. I used to run SL from it but I keep having this stupid problem.

So the next best thing is to run frequently used files from the SSD in hope that it works fine. Btw, unfortunately I cannot simply create a symlink to my boot volume...

I don't know whether this is he right forum - I suspect it's not. I wrote to support to OWC but I got a okie-doke answer.

2011 MBA eligible but cannot update to High Sierra

Well, I know my machine is eligible because it was available on App Store for a long time. I chose instead to stay with Sierra simply because it worked.

Well, now that Mojave has been released for quite some time and Catalina will be in Sept, I no longer see High Sierra as an upgrade on App Store.

Can someone let me know how I can still upgrade to High Sierra?

2013 iMac 21.5, 1TB Fusion

The other day I restarted the computer, and it would boot about 2/3 of the way on the progress bar, and then shutdown.
I booted in verbose mode, and captured this message

How do you navigate your spaces when you are up to 7-8 of them?

Hitting the mission control key and then mousing over the top and then selecting the one you want. Isn't exactly efficient when you have to do this frequently.

Keyboard shortcut is manageable I find up to 4-5 spaces, but it gets to 7-8 it's really hard to press ctrl-8 etc.
Any ideas?

Hi :)

I tried to install OS X Yosemite on a Late 2006 MacBook Pro 15" with MacPostFactor.

After the installation failed with small Recovery, I unchecked the "Small-Recovery" Box and retried installing.

The Mac is now stuck in a bootloop. It says "Creating MacPostFactor Recovery (with packages)", then restarts and does the same thing.

I created a 10.7.5 bootable USB on my other Mac, but the Startup Manager on the 2006 MBP won't show the bootable USB. It only shows "Create Recovery on...
